trying to do Illamasqua justice
2 weeks. 2 weeks. 2 weeks. 2 weeks.
and then year 2
is over.
I am thrilled. Its not been enjoyable. Its not like I've hated it. Just thoroughly disliked it.
But being back in the studio with Veronika today has rekindled a dying romance I have with fashion.
A slice of what I'm handing in as part of the Illamasqua unit.

I couldn't have done it without Veronika. And it just wouldn't have worked with anyone else. SO really - I owe alot to her genetics...

Studio Vampires.
Hello yummy sunny weather - oh how nice of you to grace England with your rays of heat and potential tannage.
Unfortunately I am yet to enjoy the perks of your visits as I've been stuck in the studio for the past two days.
Everytime I leave... you leave. Now its really not on is it.
Okay so - yup - past two days. studio.
Yesterday we shot for one of the 25 articles going into our first issue of 5thCharacter... and its alllll about being *in the words of destinys child* Bootylicious.
After a good 4 hours of setting up we got cracking (no pun intended) now don't get ahead of yourself thinking I'm gonna show you the finished product - you'll JUST have to wait like everyone else when we launch ;)
BUT heres a few cheeky snaps I took with a cheeky vintage little app known as retro cam.

now swiftly f*** OFF!
I'm not being rude.
The title is sort of a private joke of profanities between me and one little follower out there ... you know who you are ;)
But these necklaces are the dogs bollocks.
How quaint ! How sweet! until further inspection...
*if you go sneeking around through your grannies old jewellery whilst shes getting 40 winks and you find one of these do let me know*
they cateer for the typical girly girl aswell but c'mooooon everyones got a little naughty they gotta let expose sometimes ;)

Nagi Noda
Awsome name init.
I'd love be called Nagi Noda.
Actually I probably wouldn't, I don't think I could pass as a Nagi. I'm quite clearly an Amy - theres nothing multicultural about the way I look.
ANYWWAYYYY
Unfortunately the little Japanese talent is no longer with us
but luckily her eccentricity lives on in various artistic forms, my favourite being hair hats.
I bloomin love a good hair hat! I'll tell you that for free. Outside of a blowdry and straightening irons once a week if I can be bothered my hair barely even sees hairspray which probably doesn't justify my love for a good hair piece but these are just brilliant.
I had a go at making a big swirly galaxy around my bonce this week which in all honesty didn't end great and the synthetic hair I had so many high hopes for saw a messy gooey hair gel-y end.
It was very upsetting.
But fear not for I am in the process of making something a little more sculpted. Like a tophat.
Anyway , enough about me heres Nagi to inspire you from beyond the grave...

A different shade of white. oh and tights.
Its dark, I'm sat inside and STILL wearing my new hat (see post below)
Wondering what is worthy to fill Aprils blog posts with, I've slacked off for a good week to take advantage of what could be the majority of british summer as we know it and have dedicated over the past 4 days a good ,mmmmmmmm, say 10-12 hours at peak sun damage time and have come away with a slight change in skin colour.
This is not to be mistaken for a tan.
No no. I do not tan under british sun. Yes yes very odd.
My dedication to burning has left me a different shade of white.
(Almost as white as my new hat, but I shall shut up about that eventually)
So. What shall we talk about today ?
TIGHTS - lets talk about tights. You know, its always baffled me why people spend a ruddy fortune on tights - my thinking has always been as long as they dont ladder would you really notice the difference? And if they DO ladder , well, more fools you for buying expensive ones.
But a new shoot coming up has lead me to do a fair amount of research on these fantastic little life savers when you're between waxes - and it turns out there is a reason to invest a little time and money...
(I've started writing and it all sounds great, as if I'm leading somewhere with this , as if some great anecdote is gonna kick in but the conclusion is kinda mundane and boring - as a pre-warn like)
Yeeeah they actually give you a pretty big confidence boost - I bought a pair of glossy 15 denier Aristoc's today and my oh myyyyyyy not only did they genuinely feel like a dream in all kinds of ways BUT for the first time in about, say 4 years - I felt...firm.
So forget the gym membership - invest in a really good pair of *Cough* support *Cough* TIGHTS (not to be mistake for a pair of bridgets - these are faaaar sexier)
and you know you'll never need to feel guilty about eating a whole cadburys chocolate sponge pudding at 900kcals EVER again.
Fav brands coming up for all budget and all tastes...
