Flash! Bam! Analogue! and a short word

Today was good.

Today the sun shined. Alot.

A brand spanking new digital SLR turned up at my door along with a Diana F mini (ohmygosh shes soooo pretty) AND i inherited a vintage pentax auto 110 (my Grandad calls it his spy camera because its so tiny. He's so cool. He also owns a 1950's minolta, after a lot of batting my eyelashes and major hints that I should be the new owner and put it to some use I came to the conclusion I might be pushing my luck at a forth camera in one day. Alas. )

Am yet to enjoy the wonders of my latest analogue beauties but incase your not so familar with them here is what they look like and the kind of pictures they produce...

Saturation + Soft focus = pure fashion photography genius.

love the photojournalism look it has, and I've seen FEW photographers experimenting with lomography in editorial fashion...

okaaaaayrrr so digitals quick and easy but I like a challenge. Time to think up some sweet LOMOfashion ideas...

ALL HAIL YE ANALOGUE!!

Oh and I booked a ticket to Paris <3 - hello you beautiful fashion capital ;)

The Goddess Guide II

Muchos muchos excitment when I read Gisele Scanlon was bringing out ANOTHER Goddess Guide - only to be disappointed that I already have it and that my version is called the goddess experience ...
hmmmmph.

BUT hope is on the horizon because numero TH-REEEEEE will be out this year! WOOP - about ruddy time.
Incase you are not familiar with Miss Scanlons work all I have to say is that she is a genius.
Infact probably my idol. Her books are a collection of memoirs of travelling, fashion and what makes her happy - the main inspiration for my blog infact.

And the pages full of pretty patterns and cute illustrations

(and if you know me you'll KNOW how much I love illustration)

Loveloveloooove the way she writes, theres nothing pretentious or show offy about all the things shes done . Basically. I just love her.

TANK

todays fashion happiness - TANK magazine.

...in the library waiting for a computer to be free...

waiting

and waiting

and waiting

and waiting...(knew I should have bought my laptop with me)

and waiting...(oooooooooooo. Cant be bothered I'm going home. tsk.)

but wait what is this on the shelf? enter TANK.

maybe I'll wait a litttttttle while longer then...

Ok so I'm not gonna lie, never heard of it BUT it looked like an oversized notebook I would have bought from WHSmith when I was in year 6 - interesting enough for a second glance...

and the front cover was pretty cool to, claiming it 'the platinum edition' - flicking through and the whole edition is dedicated to BLONDES

(oh TANK , you know me so well - I. LIKE. yooou.)

the best part of it all ...its like a book. A fun book though. Rather than taking the subject and documenting it in various ways with fashion stories repeating themselves its more about a journey, kinda like an essay question but magazine styleeee informing you and feeling like your left with the idea that everything in the editorial is relevant , has a purpose. Leaving the likes of me, *cough* not particular cultured *cough* understanding issues that I'd never really been fussed about.

Well. I enjoyed it.

Bring back the 40's!

Last week amongst the post of bills and boring stuff in white envelopes came a nice little package in the form of asos magazine.

And in that magazine came a nice little interview with Theo Hutchcraft from the band Hurts (watch out for them this year, good good stuff) ANYWAAAAY...

he talks about why mens tailoring from the 40's and 50's plays a big part in his look which got me thinking WHERE HAVE ALL THE SMART MEN GONE?
Yeah yeah Hedi Slimane don't get me wrong you're wicked with your cool young models all naked and skinny but what happened to the romanticism of courting a young lady in a smart shirt and trousers?

oh hey Theo... *dribble dribble dribble*...
